WordPress—Web application of the year 2004

WordPress bags the web application of the year 2004 award by ArsTechnica. A very deserved award indeed. Who says blogs are only about people? These days, they’re also about software. If it were not for a good software, we’d be spending much of our precious time weeding out trash out of our comments and trackbacks instead of writing.

I have written in length about WordPress in the last six months that I started using it. I am very glad that I’m a WordPress user. A huge round of applause for Matt Mullenweg and the magical and tireless community of developers who pour in their time and effort in making this GPL’d software better and better all the time.
