We were supposed to stay home this Chinese New Year, but on 23rd morning, that changed. Sneha and I thought it was really boring to stay home for four long days. So, we checked with our regular car-rental company. As luck would have it they had a car available for us. Before leaving, we called a couple of hotels in Fraser Hill for a chance to stay over, but we got the usual: I’m sorry sir, we are fully booked.

One of them promised to get back, but we were unsure. Half the way to Fraser Hill, my cellphone beeped. Call from Shahzan Inn to say there was accommodation available for us. Whew! We took it. At the check-in the guy asked me: Sir, do you want the golf view or the garden view?. What would you say? Golf view of-course!

Gap Rest House Fraser Hill

As usual, we stopped at GAP Rest house because there are timings to go up the 8km stretch and because it’s one-way traffic. Hence every hour, there’s one way traffic-up and one way traffic down in alternative cycles. We missed our time and had to wait.

The best of waiting is that you’re not alone. There’s usually a caravan of vehicles in single line que to pass the check-post gate. So we just queued up our car and went up the GAP restaurant for a quickie (Use the loo; coffee, et al ;).

After GAP is the winding road that leads to Fraser Hill. Fraser Hill is natural in its extreme and is surrounded by a thick jungle. The journey is full of breathtaking scenes and numerous hairpin-bends. This is the place for bird watchers and golfers.

Some pictures from our trip and the return to FH and then a stop-over at Putrajaya here.
