The going gets tough
My machine’s dead. It started with abnormal boot-delays. After a round of defrag, things did look normal for a day. But soon after, the blue screen with CRC errors came back. I ignored. But it came back haunting at every boot. Oh hell.
For my luck, I happened to have a copy of a new Knoppix1 image I had downloaded back in January.
The CD went live in less than a minute flat, connected to my DSL-line; and I am posting this from my new Knoppix environment.
My hard disk, I think, has died. I don’t know when will I have the time to upgrade. So until further notice, yours truly is a CD-ROM booting OS user.
- Knoppix is a CD version of Linux and loads up the entire OS on the virtual RAM with fantastic compression and de-compression levels. [←]
