Textile v. Word

During the course of my write-ups, I realized that I am able to format and style in Textile (together with CSS) better than in Word. How crazy does that sound? Of-course there are lots of things that can be done better in Word, but seriously, how many of us really put those features to use?

As I look at it, Word is an overcooked software, has more stuff than you can think of—but would ever use—and yet, its creators continue to drive users nuts in the name of competition by adding idiotic new features. Word has been growing up on me with the release of every new version. New features such as saving multiple snippets on a clipboard, the source format menu after paste are becoming anything but useful. And, I am particularly annoyed when simple things such as indented bullets or lists and paragraph spacings are so hard to control while formatting in Word.
