Stroller pleasure

Saanvi, our second child born this April, is enjoying the riches of babyhood better than her older sibling. While raising Aaryana, we were much ignorant first-time parents about better baby-things. This time though, we are a much educated pair. So, sometimes Sneha and I feel guilty when we buy the goodies for Saanvi. In our hearts, we wish that our older daughter too enjoyed the good stuff (when she was Saanvi’s age). But she’s grown-up already and there’s no second take now.

This Sunday, we went shopping for a new stroller with an eye on Maclaren’s Triumph. At Toys R Us and in other places, we didn’t find Triumph, and we fought over Volo v/s Quest finally deciding to buy Quest. As stupid as it may seem, we are overjoyed at having a good stroller for our kid, and we’ll take every opportunity to rollout when we can =) LOL =) (Aaryana seems to enjoy taking her younger sis out for a spin too).

Love the simple pleasures of parenthood.

Okaaaay! Let me enlighten you about how to be fair to your older one.
My qualification ? I was the older one, and, my sister has enjoyed more luxuries ;-) (btw, she is a sweetheart, but when I was a whole lot younger it used to piss me off to no end!).
The most irritating stuff is - playing the guilt card- ‘don’t do that, she is younger’ or, ‘you are the older one, how can you do that?’ or, ‘you should behave better, she is watching you and is learning all what you are doing’ or, they :’take care of her, me: ‘but I want to go our and play’, they: ‘ be more responsible’…..sigh….I could go on and on. So whatever you do, use the ‘guilt- card’ carefully!! But I am sure my sis has a whole new perspective where I must have been the overbearing older sister!! Simple joys of life - cribbing about your sibling !! And the Quest looks cool! Ciao!

Sunrayz: We rarely make the older one feel responsible (if that’s what you meant). Also, the older one gets better stuff for her age. It’s only that when she was much younger, we bought things that could’ve been better. That’s all =)

Was just sharing some thoughts of my childhood, which came to my mind as I read your post. It proably did’nt have a direct connection to your post. Sorry! I did get your point tho’!

I think you learn a bit more as you are more “experienced”. Bad word usage but can’t think of a better one.

If you have a third child, you will learn about so many new things that he/she might have it better than your second child! :) I think its just how life works out and that we have growing technology. Newer products with newer features.

Sunrayz: I kinda realized that later =).
Poonam: Agree on new stuff coming out all the time. And, no third one for sure =)
