Should I Mac?
Another PC Fair is around the corner (next weekend), and this time, I’m itching to get my hands on a new set of hardware. My current notebook is barely surviving the onslaught. My younger kid happened to push the lid back all the way that broke the LCD hinge. Ouch.
People, I’m in a serious dilemma—whether to buy another PC or a Mac mini. I don’t have any ready accessories to connect to the mini, i.e., I have to buy’em all—the keyboard, the pointing device and the display. My apps are general computing and mostly the internet. What do you think I should buy? Also, I want to know if Mac mini’s performance in its default config (esp the 256MB RAM) is good enough for the Mac experience (with no Photoshop, no hungry apps and no video editing).

my friend by the mac mini.

Or borrow a mac from a friend and test it.

As much as I’m a die hard mac fan, I’d honestly have to say that you get another good PC (and put linux on it, coming from a new linux fanatic/advocate)
Mar 19, 05 at 22:26The OSX is a superior OS for your everyday computing. Very easy to maintain/upgrade/learn/customize etc.. It’s just a pleasure to use.
Mar 21, 05 at 14:50If upgrading is no issue, then the Mac Mini is a deal, although by the time you buy a display/keyboard/mouse it gets up to what you’d pay for one of their iBooks.
The nicest, best upgradable and affordable Mac ever in my opinion is the iMac G5, especially the 20″.
Get at least 512MB RAM. And compare what you get in included software from Apple.
