The Schipol experience
While the airport within bustles with activity and is almost a city in itself with shops, banks, transit travelers, et al, there’s a ghostly lack of any activity outside the immigration, baggage reclaim area and the arrival hall. For an airport with 35% of its passengers traveling on intercontinental flights, it almost looks deserted. In fact, ours were the only bags that were spinning on the conveyor. Eerie.
