Power to loyal readers
No follow tag provided no Google juice incentive to those who commented on this blog, following a call by the internet’s who’s who. And so, this blog, along with the countless default settings on all blogs, stayed status quo (of no follow). But Dougal Campbell’s Follow you, follow me post on WordPress Planet makes sense.
My own plan is this — Any comment older than ten days on this weblog will get its deserved juice. I’m choosing ten days because I want to include at least one weekend to spend some time administering comments received (and delete any trickled-in spam), so that I don’t give any undeserving spam the benefit of this blog’s rank (whatever it may be).
Kimmo Suomenin’s Do Follow plugin allows you to set the number of lag days. Set it per your convenience and power your loyal readers and most importantly the people who provide their valuable insights in comments.
Dougal has the right kind of advice for those who want to do this:
If you’ve got a WordPress blog, and you feel like comment spam is under control on your site, I encourage you to do the same.
I’m powering my commenters back for their deserved contribution on this site.
