Knoppix Hacks

While reading Blogcritics.org, I was delighted to learn that O’reilly has released Knoppix Hacks as part of their Hacks series.

If you happen to search through my archives for Knoppix, you’d find instances where I have used this flavour of Debian Linux (live-CD) without dropping my productivity levels even when my machine was virtually without a usable hard drive for close to two months! That should speak for itself. I have more than a couple of latest versions of Knoppix and at any given time because, I know that they’re my lifeline.

I hear the book is a wonderful reference to Knoppix. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Update: This is very interesting indeed: ArsTechnica awards Knoppix Hacks as the Dead-tree publication of the year (the choice of best printed magazine, journal or a book).

Knoppix Hacks contains dozens of useful tools for system maintenance, hardware checking, and emergency recovery tools and comes with a copy of the bootable CD distribution itself. — ArsTechnica
