Holiday management disorder

Thu, 11 May 2006 at 19:59 • Chyetanya Kunte • Filed under Musings, Self, Trips

Tomorrow is a holiday. We are thinking of an insta-getaway to some place. The hardest part is now choosing a destination that is not too far away. Long distance driving—to us—is becoming more of a kill-joy.

There was a time we enjoyed driving, but now, it is more like getting from point A to point B. So, we have been going over and over our local tour digests to dig and see if we missed anything in the neighbourhood.

The other difficult part is that we have no reservations. As much as we’d like to enjoy a pleasant holiday and stay over at some place, that might be a grim possibility, unless our luck shines extra bright tomorrow.

The problem is: people here in Kuala Lumpur are extremely holiday savvy and book in advance like mad. I’m talking like 3 months before hand! This is something I’ll never get used to.
