Google unleashes Desktop

Woah, I just found out on Google blog and I’m now trying this. This is absolutely gun-totting awesome! I mean who wouldn’t want a tool like this?

A quick review of the glory I’m witnessing in the last ten minutes (it’s indexing my desktop first time as I type this) and you get Google styled search results from many popular file formats even extracting some summary snippet.

When one of Albert Einstein’s colleagues asked the eminent physicist for his telephone number one day, he reached for a telephone directory and looked it up. “You don’t remember your own number?” the man asked, understandably startled. “No,” Einstein replied with a shrug. “Why should I memorize something I can so easily get from a book?”

Looks like Google shares that with most people as of now. Three words: Go get it.
