Google hosting?

Last month I wondered aloud about why Google was not in the hosting business.

I wonder why Google is not in the business of domain hosting. If I was in the business of aggregating world’s information—not to mention making money on the side—I’d definitely be in the business of hosting websites.

I hear this now on John Battelle’s search blog:

The company [Google] is experimenting with a hosted service that includes domain hosting, email, calendar, instant messaging, desktop search and administrative services.

Aha!

Update [28.Aug.06]: Google offers Google Apps for your domain.

Yep, they started ‘hosting’ website when they bough Blogger. They are beta testing Gmail for domains… Google *is* the Internet! :)

Patrix: May be that they do :).

David: Blogger got them leaps ahead of Geocities. But as more and more people trying to find their own domain on the web, now is probably the time for a web hosting offer—not to mention offering a good option/choice to those that already have a solution.
