Late last night Google formally took their desktop search tool to the public.. Google Desktop Search fully indexes email, chat sessions, visited web pages and multiple file types from PDFs to audio and video files. — Engadget

And plugins? This is something. Can’t wait to take it for a spin through my drive.

It’s a resource hog, so it got uninstalled a long time ago.. an end-run around Microsoft? Feh. Google is the new Microsoft. I’m interested in end-runs around Google. — Dave Winer
