Feed content

I do not understand why many (if not most) of them provide partial content of their post in their feed. To me, this serves virtually no purpose. All it does is notify the viewer that there’s fresh juice. Methinks feed ought to be used for more than just that. Feed saves load-times, bandwidth, sql queries to name a few. So many advantages there. Believe me, I read my own blog via feed. Since FeedDemon is integrated with a browser, I can put a URI in the address bar and let FeedDemon detect the feed available on that particular site.

Every post on this blog is in its full content (including links to comments all via feed). While I’d love to see people ogle at my layout :-P , that’s not the intent here for regular visitors and to those that are more interested in the content rather than the presentation. I prefer making life easy for them. I wish more and more people offer full content via feed (or atleast those that are non-ad related ones). That’s my take. Others may have a different opinion.
