Best World Cup Cricket 2007 subscription offer yet

Thu, 22 Feb 2007 at 17:38 • Chyetanya Kunte • Filed under Sport

The best conventional TV deal offered on subscription to watch the World Cup Cricket 2007, as of today, stands at €325.- This offer includes The dish, the decoder and a year’s subscription to channels like B4U and a few others we have never bothered watching. So, is this the best deal yet or what?

We are still contemplating on what to do. At first glance, it is a rip-off, essentially because we won’t be using, the rest of the year’s subscription, after two months’ of Cricket. But, don’t be surprised if our sanity takes a dive, as the event date begins closing in on us. Oh hell.

325 euros! That’s very expensive IMO.

BTW, as far as I know, there will be few websites that will be streaming the world cup matches live. Have you explored that option?

Did you explore Sky TV. Sky TV is an UK enterprise, owned by the media baron Rupert Murdoch.

Here is a link worth looking at; http://www.insatinternational.com/watch_sky_europe.php

In UK, if I were to watch Sky Sports (to watch cricket), I would pay

The only worry is whether we can really spot the ball via those :) .

The webcast options of course lack the quality you need for watching cricket. The ball is bigger in football :) so I guess, it didn’t matter.

In US , we are pooling our friends and subscribing for DishNet work. It was awesome during the last worldcup but the prices are very competative.

I’m in the Netherlands as well, and follow the England home games on the ECBtv site. Not exactly HD quality, but better than I expected. Certainly watchable.
Good luck finding a stream for the World Cup, I’m desperately trying to find one as well. I’ve mailed Willow TV to ask if they will be broadcasting it in this region, when I get an answer I’ll let you know.

Sky and ARY are both offering to telecast ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. Choose your poison, depending upon your geographical location and preferences. (Note: Euro 325, a quote previously by a local ARY rep, is no longer applicable, it has gone up considerably.)

To my opinion, the Ary offer is expensive, but still the best compromise. I have watched over streaming clients, once they get crowded, it no pleasure anymore. And with Ary you will get further international matches even after the WC.

As far as I can see, you have in the Group Stage only 1 day where India and Pakistan play (17/3). From Super8 onwards there is only 1 match a day, so no more coinciding matches.

Yes, that’s a valid point. So, ARY is still a go for tricolor flag flyers.

Hmm, Sky should be your best bet in the Netherlands I’d have thought. With the location of the birds Sky use, you should be able to use a simple minidish and receiver, and then all you need is a viewing card, and instructions on how to align the dish. Search ebay for minidish, should get you all that you need.

The second link has crazy amounts of information on setting up Sky dishes in caravans (!), but I guess if you are putting them up in caravans then you get a lot of experience in getting them working!

Good luck in the cricket - pray you get England in the second round for an easy win - we suck at ODI’s :D
