Brainless Boneheaded East Indian
This is a first. One of my theme users called me just that.
No thanks to the brainless boneheaded East Indian who engineered this whole thing, who doesn’t answer his mail and is generally unhelpful.
I tried to respond to his/her post, but I couldn’t. So writing it here. Hope this takes away your venom:
Netnomad — I’m sorry if I conveyed that (about being generally unhelpful) to you. I’m really not that bad. I couldn’t answer your email because I was on vacation and my place doesn’t have a good internet connection (I was on a dialup). So the only stuff I was, if ever, responding to was urgent call for help and work related stuff and doing some minimum offline blogging.
But the thing that you were looking for is not specific to my theme. It’s a common tag that you can easily lookup on Codex to add to your blog template. (You don’t have to know PHP to add template_tags.) If you have any trouble with anything related to WordPress, do post your question on WordPress support. The guys there are fantastic. They reply almost immediately. Sometimes, authors are unable to reply due to pre-occupation or plain busy or overloaded with work. The community helps each other. I pitch in there myself once a while whenever I have some free time in order to help the newcomers.
Update [16 Aug]: He seems to have deleted those words from his post and changed the theme now. Swell. No hard feelings eh?
Ouch, that was real rude. Nevermind, it is good to see you took it with a good sense of humor (or humour as we boneheads like it)!

I thought about writing back to him but don’t feel like MESSING with somebody whose blog gets “quarter of a million hits a year”. Good for him.

The guy did ask quite politely in his email and I feel guilty for not answering him, aside from the fact that I thought people understood vacation = privacy and little time for yourself (which was quite noticeable from my posts).
I would assume people react in many ways and probably this was one of a kind. I don’t blame him because no one is bad unless they come after you again and again, in which case I’d plain ignore. It was probably a knee-jerk reaction.
I have learnt this from being on WordPress Support where there are quite a few gentlemen that diffuse problems and trolls so effectively, that people have a good opinion about them and about the community in general.
