Torching the taboo

Thursday, 10 April 2008

What tickles me no end is the fact that not one seems to be complaining about Sachin Tendulkar volunteering to carry the Olympic torch. May be he’s above all, and unlike Aamir Khan.

A post still remains in draft form on that exact topic. Hope to publish it over the weekend.

    Chetan,

One reason might be that Sachin has not provided any justifications like Aamir provided for carrying the torch…He is carrying the torch like the others are doing without inviting any wrath from the bloggers :-)

    Cheers,

The general message from bloggers raking this issue up appears to be: “Don’t talk (or justify), just run—with the torch, if you choose to.” I am equally surprised by those of us judging Aamir Khan’s naivety. Hypocrites I’d call them—not to mention mob attitude. I have read Khan’s response, I found his response okay—well at least, he’s able to say why he chose to do what he’s doing. That, in my opinion is far better than dumb dodos running for who knows what cause.
