World Cup Cricket 2007 the most expensive ever

Wednesday, 14 March 2007

This has been the most expensive World Cup ever for us. We just skipped our sanity checks and shelled out a whopping €450.- to get the dish, the decoder and a Sky subscription only to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

Do this: cancel subscription after event has finished, and return the equipment. I am sure there is a period of time with “your money back” guaranteed, right?

Alternatively, you could cancel subscription, and sell equipment on eBay and recover some money. :-)

Well, we thought of a better plan. We actually subscribed to Sky’s other channels as well (some Indian news, bollywood, and others). We will now, instead, cancel our cable TV service :) .

    Hi Chetan,

So atlast you opted for the expensive option.

Euro 450 seems very reasonable to me. In the UK, to subscribe Sky one needs to enter a year’s contract. Though the decoder is given for free, a year’s suscription costs

As there are a few channels related to Indian News (Star News and NDTV 24/7) and Bollywood shown for free, it makes the pill less bitter to swallow.

    Yes, indeed.
