Email is the new database

Saturday, 23 April 2005

E-mail is a way of interacting not just with others, but also with yourself says Mr Harik, who is director of Googlettes (new Google services). You want to remember something, so you send it to your mailbox.BBC (via Slashdot)

Oh, yes! All those who predicted that email is going to be dead and IM is the new email, knock knock, kick. I’ll say again, email is not going anywhere. In fact, I’ll go a step ahead and say, that’s probably the only sure thing that will survive in the future. Let’s take a look back twenty years later, shall we? Until then, blog-on.

I agree with the fact that emails can be used as reminders. Since Gmail has arrived I do it more often – I send photos, documents etc that I want to send later :) It’s VERY helpful. I can’t imagine email going ‘out-of-fashion’.
